The latest APA Monitor on Psychology (September 2023) has an article with recommendations that aim to balance the discussion of risks of social media with the benefits of social media.  While there are numerous potential dangers to teenagers (see the previous blog posting), there are also positive consequences that parents need to consider.  In other words, things aren't simply black and white when it comes to social media platforms.
